1️⃣ Log In & Get Oriented (5 minutes)

What to do:

  • Log in using the credentials you just received

  • Take a quick look at the main menu:
    Customers • Schedule • Jobs • Invoices • Reports

Goal: Know where things live — no pressure to configure anything yet.


2️⃣ Add Your First Customer (or Use the Test Customer)

What to do:

  • Go to Customers

  • Add a real customer or use the built-in test customer

Why this matters:
Everything in POM connects to a customer — scheduling, jobs, reports, and invoicing.


3️⃣ Create an Appointment on the Schedule

What to do:

  • Open the Schedule

  • Create an appointment for that customer

  • Assign a technician (even if it’s just you)

Tip:
This mimics your real-world workflow and unlocks the job process.


4️⃣ Start & Complete Your First Job ⭐ (Most Important Step)

What to do:

  • Open the appointment

  • Click Start Job

  • Follow the prompts:

    • Add service details

    • Enter notes

    • Upload photos

  • Save the job

This is the “aha” moment.
This is where most customers realize how much time they’re about to save.


5️⃣ Send the Service Report & Preview the Invoice

What to do:

  • Email the completed service report to yourself

  • Preview (or create) the invoice

Why this matters:
You’ll see exactly what your customers see — clean, professional, and photo-backed.


6️⃣ Optional Next Steps (Do These Later)

No rush — these can wait until after your first job:

  • Import customers from QuickBooks or a spreadsheet

  • Connect QuickBooks (two-way sync)

  • Add technicians and set permissions

  • Customize service report wording

  • Set up payments and invoicing preferences
