How to Cancel Your Pool Office Manager Subscription
You can cancel your Pool Office Manager subscription yourself, from inside POM — there's no need to call or email us first. It takes about a minute, and your account keeps working normally until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.
Before you start
- You'll need access to Settings → Company Profile, so sign in as an owner or admin on the account.
- Billing runs through Stripe, our payment processor. The cancel button lives in the Stripe billing portal, which opens in a new browser tab from inside POM.
- Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period — not the moment you click it.
How to cancel
- In POM, click Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- Under Company, click Company Profile.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the page, to the Subscription section.
- Click Manage Billing. The Stripe billing portal opens in a new tab.
- At the top right of the portal, click Cancel subscription.
- A window asks "Could you tell us why you're leaving?" Choosing a reason is optional — you can leave it on "Choose an option." Click Continue to cancellation.
- The Review your changes screen shows the exact date your service ends. Click Cancel subscription to confirm.
You're done. The portal now shows a Cancels [date] label next to your plan, with the line "Your service will end on [date]."
What happens next
| What | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Your POM access | Nothing changes until the end date shown in the portal. You and your techs keep full access to scheduling, invoicing, the app — everything — right up to that date. |
| Your card | You won't be charged for another month. The subscription stops renewing instead of being cut off mid-period. |
| The period you're in | Cancelling doesn't refund or pro-rate the month you've already paid for — you keep using the service you bought for the rest of it. |
| Past invoices | Still available to view and download in the billing portal under Invoice history. |
Changed your mind? You can undo it
A cancellation isn't final until the end date arrives. To reverse it, go back to Settings → Company Profile → Manage Billing. Where the "Cancel subscription" button used to be, you'll now see Don't cancel subscription. Click it and your plan renews as normal — no need to re-enter your card or set anything up again.
How to check whether a cancellation went through
The Subscription section inside POM looks exactly the same whether or not you've cancelled — it only ever shows the Manage Billing button. To confirm, open Manage Billing and look at the top of the portal: a scheduled cancellation shows a Cancels [date] label above your plan name.
What else you can do in the billing portal
The same Manage Billing link is where you handle everything else about your POM subscription:
- Update your card — add a new payment method or change which one is the default.
- View and download invoices — the full history, with amounts and paid status.
- Update your billing email and address — under "Billing and shipping information."
- See exactly what you're paying for — click View details under your plan for the line-by-line breakdown.
Common questions
Can I cancel just one part of my plan?
Your subscription may include more than one line item (for example, hosting plus active users). The Cancel subscription button cancels the whole subscription, not individual lines. If you only want to drop or reduce one piece — say, fewer user seats heading into the off-season — email us instead and we'll adjust it for you.
I don't see a Manage Billing button
Two likely reasons: the user you're signed in as doesn't have access to Company Profile, or your account is billed directly rather than through the self-serve portal. Sign in as the account owner first; if it's still not there, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
Is there a cancellation fee or notice period?
No. You cancel when you like, and the service runs out the period you've already paid for.
Still need a hand, or want to talk through options before you cancel? Email help@poolofficemanager.com or call 614-710-0074 — if something isn't working the way you expected, we'd rather hear about it and fix it.
