Basic Troubleshooting Guide for Pool Office Manager
Running into something weird in POM? Before reaching out to support, try these quick fixes. Most issues are caused by your browser holding onto old data, and a few simple steps will get you back on track.
tep 1: Refresh the Page
Sometimes POM just needs a fresh load.
- Windows/Chromebook: Press
Ctrl + Shift + R - Mac: Press
Cmd + Shift + R
This forces your browser to reload the page without using cached files. If things look normal again, you're all set.
Step 2: Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies
If a hard refresh didn't help, clearing your cache and cookies usually will. Here's how to do it in Google Chrome:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome
- Go to Settings
- Click Privacy and security in the left sidebar
- Click Delete browsing data
- Set the time range to Last 7 days (or All time if the issue has been going on a while)
- Check both boxes:
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click Delete data
Note: Clearing cookies will log you out of most websites, not just POM. You'll need to sign back in to any sites you use.
Step 3: Close Your Browser Completely and Reopen
Don't just close the tab — close the entire browser window.
- Windows: Click the X in the top-right corner, or press
Alt + F4 - Mac: Press
Cmd + Q(not just the red dot — that doesn't fully close Chrome)
Wait a few seconds, then reopen Chrome and navigate back to POM.
Step 4: Log Out of POM and Log Back In
If the issue is still happening after clearing your cache:
- Click your profile icon or name in the top-right corner of POM
- Click Log Out
- Close the browser tab
- Reopen the browser and go back to POM
- Log in with your credentials
This resets your session and often resolves display glitches, permission errors, or stale data.
Step 5: Try an Incognito / Private Window
This is a great way to test whether the problem is caused by a browser extension or cached data.
- Open Chrome
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + N(Windows) orCmd + Shift + N(Mac) - Log in to POM in the incognito window
If POM works fine in incognito, the issue is likely a browser extension. Try disabling extensions one at a time to find the culprit.
Step 6: Check Your Internet Connection
It sounds obvious, but it's worth checking:
- Can you load other websites (like Google)?
- Are you on Wi-Fi or a wired connection? Try switching.
- Is anyone else in your office having the same issue?
- Try restarting your router if everything seems slow.
Step 7: Make Sure Chrome is Up to Date
An outdated browser can cause unexpected problems.
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome
- Go to Help → About Google Chrome
- Chrome will check for updates automatically
- If an update is available, click Relaunch to apply it
