Alerts and the notification inbox
Use the Inbox and Manage Alerts to send the right alert to the right person.
Alerts tell the right person when something happens: a tech gets a new job, a customer signs a quote, or a service report shows a problem. Every alert lands in your Inbox, and techs also get it in the mobile app.
▶ Watch: Alerts & the inbox (1:28)
Work your Inbox
- Click Inbox at the top of the left menu. The red badge shows how many alerts are open.
- Use the left panel to filter: All Inbox, Critical, Assigned to me, Mentions, Snoozed and Completed, plus categories (Jobs & Dispatch, Customers, Mentions & Team, Billing, System), priority, read status and date.
- Click an alert to open it. Related context links straight to the customer, the service or quote, and the assigned tech.
- Act on it: Mark Complete, Reassign, Add Follow-up, Mark as Unread, Snooze (1 hour, 4 hours, tomorrow or next week) or Dismiss. You can also reply or @mention a teammate under Reply or add follow-up.
Built-in alerts
Open Inbox → Manage Alerts to see every rule and switch each one on or off:
- Job assigned, removed, or rescheduled: tells the assigned tech when a job today is added to, removed from or moved on their schedule.
- Job marked complete: tells admins when a job's status changes to Complete.
- @mentioned in job notes: tells anyone who is mentioned in a note.
- Low chemical quantity on hand: tells admins when an item's quantity on hand drops below a number you set.
- Tech is 30+ min late to appointment: tells the assigned tech and admins.
- Quote signed: tells admins when a customer signs a quote.
- Clock-in reminder: reminds a tech with jobs today who hasn't clocked in.
Choose who gets an alert and how
- In Manage Alerts, click the pencil icon on a rule.
- Under Priority, pick Critical, High, Normal or Low.
- Under Send via, choose In-App, Email and/or SMS.
- Under Who gets it, choose Admins, Assigned tech, one or more Roles, or specific People.
- Click Save changes, and make sure the rule's switch is on.
Example: tell sales and management when a quote is signed
- In Manage Alerts, click the pencil on Quote signed.
- Keep Admins selected, then open People and add your sales staff.
- Keep In-App and Email on, click Save changes, and turn the rule's switch on.
Example: a custom low-water alert for your service manager
- In Manage Alerts, click Create New Alert Rule.
- Name it (for example, Low water level).
- Under When, choose Service · Water Level, then is → Low and needs more water. Other service report readings work the same way, such as chlorine, pH, salt, filter pressure or water condition.
- Set Priority to High and turn on In-App and Email.
- Under Who gets it, open People and pick your service manager.
- Click Create rule. The next time a tech submits a service report with low water, the alert lands in your service manager's Inbox with the customer, service and tech attached.
What techs see in the mobile app
When a job is assigned, removed or rescheduled, the tech sees a banner in the POM app right away. If they're in another app, it arrives as a push notification on their phone.
